Sara Jimenez, your Instructor, is currently considered one of the best Flamenco dancers in the global scene, she is a regular performer in the most prestigious Tablao of Spain: El Corral de La Moreria in Madrid. And her career and record are impressive, she offers a very unique artistic expression.
In this class you will get a taste of the History and intention behind the powerful art of Flamenco, as well as learning some of its most outstanding technique characteristics, focused on the upper body, such as:

Sara Jiménez Andrés began dancing at the age of five. At ten, she started her studies at the Conservatorio

Profesional de danza Reina Sofía, focusing on Spanish dance and flamenco. She received a scholarship from the Centro Andaluz de Danza de Sevilla under the direction of Blanca Li.
After completing her training in Seville, she moved to Madrid and joined the Estévez & Paños company as a solo dancer, performing in shows like La Consagración, Bailables, El sombrero, Flamenco Hoy, the latter directed by filmmaker Carlos Saura, with whom she toured internationally. She also collaborated with Antonio Rey on the tour for his album Camino al Alma and composed a suite of classical guitar pieces for the 28th edition of Clásicos en verano and the 28th International Andrés Segovia Festival in Madrid.
She made a special appearance in the premiere of the show Yo, Mujer with dramaturgy by filmmaker Carlos Rico in Granada.
Sara won first prize for best choreography along with Macarena López at the Tetuán District Choreography Competition with the piece Tápate Niña, at the Maribor International Ballet Gala (Slovenia), and Cádiz es Flamenco, Patrimonio Flamenco events.
In 2016, she presented the show Real de la Alhambra at the Granada Music and Dance Festival. From 2016 to 2018, she was a soloist with the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucia, under the direction of Rafael Estévez, and also took part as a choreographer for the creation of the show “Flamenco, tradición y vanguardia” Proyecto Cantera.
She presented a new show with bailaor Alberto Sellés, Vía Bamba, at the Isabel la Católica Theater in Granada.
She was nominated for Best Female Dance Performer at the 2018 Max Awards for Performing Arts for the show “Aquel Silverio” with the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucia.
In 2020, Sara created the work VARIACIÓN a tempo with guitarist Pablo Giménez it has been acclaimed in Seville, Germany, Valladolid, and New York.
She won first place for choreography and for outstanding dancer awards, among others, at the Madrid Choreography Competition with an excerpt from VARIACIÓN a tempo. She also won first prize for choreography at the Tetuán District Choreography Competition with this work [ETC].
In 2022, she presented her ópera prima (debut work) A D I O S E S as “Sara Jiménez en compañia” at the Jerez Festival, and was nominated for Best Theater Show at the PAD Awards. She was nominated for Best Female Dance Performer at the 2022 Max Awards for Performing Arts for Entre Hilos y Huesos by Daniel Doña, and for Best Female Flamenco Dance Performer at the Premios Lorca de la Academia Artes Escénicas de Andalucía for Debajo de los pies by Eduardo Guerrero. She won second prize for choreography at the Madrid Choreography Competition for the work UNA PIEZA SIN NOMBRE.
In 2023, Sara co-directed and co-designed the stage spacing for BAILAR NO ES SOLO BAILAR by Eduardo Guerrero, and was once again nominated for Best Female Flamenco Dance Performer at the Lorca Awards for Entre Hilos y Huesos by Daniel Doña.
She continues her work as a performer and directing her own company with the creation of a new work titled AVE DE PLATA.
