A sassy, fun and simple movement that is a great addition to solos.

While the headslide may be simple, sometimes they can be challenging. In this class DeAnna will take you step by step through resetting your natural alignment, strengthening postural head muscles that tend to be weak and relax overused muscles that inhibit our range of motion due to our typically daily posture (hello cellphones and computers)

Then we'll look at the technique of headslides for FCBD®Style and finally put it all into a slow drill.

DeAnna has studied and taught FCBD®Style belly dance (formerly American Tribal Style, or ATS®) and yoga for over 20 years. She owns and runs FatChanceBellyDance®University, the official learning source for FCBD®Style, where she oversees certification and continuing education and mentors teachers around the world.

Her dance journey began in 2004, when she met Megha, Director of Devyani Dance Company, and fell in love with FCBD®Style. She was among the very first to receive Sister Studio and Teacher Certification outside of FatChanceBellyDance®, is one of only a handful of FCBD®Style Continuing Education Instructors in the world, and was part of the inaugural FCBD®Style Advanced Teacher Training group. She has taught and performed on stages and in studios worldwide.

DeAnna is also a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher, a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, and a Therapeutic Yoga Specialist through Yoga Medicine®. Her classes draw on both the scientific, structural and functional elements of movement and its holistic and artistic side, in a relaxed, professional environment where students can elevate their skills safely and have fun doing it.
