Restorative for Balance Recovery

A 50 minute practice to help the muscles we use for balance.

A 50 minute practice to help the muscles we use for balance.

About this class: Give your body the rest it has earned. This gentle, fully supported practice helps you recover from balance and core work like eagle pose and Turkish shimmies. Using pillows, blankets, towels and blocks, you’ll settle into long, easy holds. These release the inner thighs, hamstrings, chest and back muscles we rely on in our FCBD® Style dance. Each pose is set up so the props do the work and you can simply breathe and let go.

Along the way, you’ll calm your nervous system and build body awareness through the breath. You’ll also practice shifting more quickly from activity into true rest. Releasing through the chest and upper back helps keep those muscles supple for body waves, Arabic steps and graceful posture. It’s a quiet reminder that support isn’t a weakness. It’s how we go deeper and grow stronger.

You’ll need: A couple of pillows, two towels and two blocks if you have them.
