Where does an undulation actually start?
In this class we begin with the spine itself. We will look at how your spine is built, the natural curves, how the segments move through flexion and extension, and where your body has mobility to spend versus where it really does not. Not as a lecture, as something you can feel while you are dancing.
From there, we take that understanding into two moves that ask very different things of the same spine. In the slow Bodywave we let the movement travel one part at a time, so you can see and feel the sequence clearly. In the fast Rhythmic Undulation (also known as Arabic) we keep that same articulation but set it to a rhythm.
You will leave with a clearer sense of where your undulation is initiating, how the breath supports it, and how to work with your own spine instead of against it.
Livestream will be recorded and added to our course library immediately following.
