The Swirling and Whirling Waterpot
Cross-Cultural Step of Rhythm and Grace
Experience the swirling artistry of the WaterPot, a signature FatChanceBellyDance® Volume 7 movement created by Megha Gavin. Belonging to the Rhythmic Undulation (Arabic) family, the WaterPot is a fast vocabulary move that beautifully expresses the cross-cultural fusion at the heart of FCBD® Style—blending aspects from Egyptian and Indian dance traditions.
In this class, Nivetha will guide you step-by-step through the mechanics of the Waterpot, focusing on:
- Warm up & Conditioning – setting your body up for clean, powerful execution.
- Timing & Transitions – technique, foot and arm transitions and the timing of each section.
- Nuance & Expression – the tiny details that make this movement so special.
You’ll begin with a solid warm-up, then move into detailed breakdowns and drills that bring the WaterPot to life. With Nivetha’s passion for teaching, you’ll not only learn the “how” but also experience the “why”—understanding the many layers and rhythmic textures that make this step so compelling.
Whether you’re discovering this Volume 7 gem for the first time or refining your fast-move vocabulary, this class will give you the tools and inspiration to dance the WaterPot with confidence and grace.
